Too much clutter on your drive not only consumes space, it means your PC has to work harder to find the files you do need. Files you no longer use can be archived to an external drive, while duplicates, downloads, and temporary files can be deleted together.

Eliminate old download files
To get rid of download, open the Download folder. This is Windows’ default storage location, but you may have downloaded on your PC, so check there too. Once you have installed a program you downloaded, you should no longer need the installer files on your PC. There are several PC optimizer tools available in the market; you can take help from them.
Forming which older documents and other personal files you can archive are harder. Use the best judgment and folder by their age by navigating to your Documents folder, then click an empty space and select Sort by and then Date modified.
Remove junk with disk cleanup
Windows has a disk cleanup tool which is used to clean up the hidden junk files. Go to “Start” and go to “My Computer”. Right click to the C drive and choose Properties option.
Click the Disk Cleanup option and you will see a list of items that can be eliminated, including temporary files and more.
